Thanks to those of you who attended today's discussion group for Fr. Ciszek's wonderful book, He Leadeth Me. I always enjoy the conversations and look forward to other opinions of the books that we read together. I think our first year was a big success.
As promised, the video of the interviews with Fr. Ciszek can be found below. If you have a sluggish Internet connection, you may have to wait for them to load, but I think you'll find that it is worth it.
If you are interested, you are welcome to print out a copy of the study guide that has the responses that I prepared for our discussion. Sorry, but I was not able to successfully load the registration form for the 2008-09 Seasons of Reading group, so I'm afraid you will have to wait for the "official" one that will come out in the bulletin. If you miss that bulleting, there will be extra copies available in St. Patrick's Gift & Book Store and through the church web site.

Date Set for "He Leadeth Me" Discussion Group
Please join us at the the Church of St. Patrick on Thursday, August 7 at 9:00 A.M. for the discussion group for Fr. Walter Ciszek's book, He Leadeth Me. Bring your book, your study guide, and your opinions and comments, and we'll share our thoughts on this incredible book.
Because of low attendance--actually, no attendance--at our last evening session, I have not scheduled an evening session for this book. However, I would be happy to accommodate any interest to do so. If you would like to attend an evening session, leave me a message on this site, and if there are enough requests, I will set up a group.
If you would like to learn more about Fr. Walter Ciszek, you may want to watch the following videos. The parts of the program that were available online have been divided into three sections.

He Leadeth Me
He Leadeth Me by Fr. Walter J. Ciszek is the book that I selected for our summer read. It is a book of private reflections by a priest who spent twenty-three years in Russian labor camps after being accused of acting as a Vatican spy. Now you may be wondering why I would choose such a story for this time of year, but once you start reading, I think you'll agree that Fr. Ciszek's message is uplifting and inspiring and that he has something to teach all of us about how our faith can sustain us when life gets tough, or even just plain dull.Copies of this book are available in St. Patrick's Gift and Book store. I have also prepared a study guide for this book that can be picked up at the book store or can be printed from this link:

An optional discussion group for this book will be scheduled in August. I will list a date on this site as soon as I have it, and I will have an announcement placed in the bulletin as we get closer to August.
